Five things worth doing before your barber appointment
Small preparations that make a real difference to the haircut you walk out with — from washing to what to wear.

None of these take longer than a couple of minutes, and together they noticeably improve the result. Barbers notice when someone has thought about their appointment.
1. Come with clean, dry, unstyled hair
Not freshly washed and dripping, and not loaded with yesterday's clay. Hair in its natural state shows the barber how it actually falls, where the cowlicks sit and how the growth pattern runs. If you've been in the sea that day, a quick fresh-water rinse beforehand helps a lot.
2. Save two photos
One of the top, one of the sides and back. Ideally of hair similar to yours. If you have a photo of yourself with a cut you liked, that's the most useful reference of all, because it removes the question of whether the style suits you.
3. Wear something with a low neckline
A t-shirt rather than a hoodie or a collared shirt. It lets the barber see the neckline clearly and makes the finish easier. It also means less loose hair down your back afterwards.
4. Arrive a few minutes early
Enough time to sit down, cool off and have the consultation without rushing. If you arrive hot and hurried straight off a scooter, the first five minutes get spent settling rather than talking about your hair. If you're running late, message us — appointments may be cancelled after ten minutes without contact, simply because the delay pushes into the next guest's time.
5. Know what you didn't like last time
This is more useful than knowing what you want. "Too short above the ears" or "it never sat right at the crown" gives a barber something precise to work with. Mention sunburn, skin sensitivity or any product allergies at the same time, before anything starts.
Do these five things and you'll get a better haircut from the same barber in the same amount of time.

Quick answers
- What if I don't know how to describe the cut I want?
- Bring a photo — it's the fastest, clearest way to communicate a haircut in any language. If you don't have one, your barber will ask about length on top, how tight you want the sides, and how you usually style it, then talk you through what will suit your hair type and face shape. Nothing significant happens without you agreeing to it first.
- What happens if I arrive late?
- Please arrive on time. Appointments may be cancelled if a customer is more than 10 minutes late without letting the shop know, because the delay pushes into the next guest's reserved time. If you're running behind, message or call us — we'll do everything we can to keep your chair or shift you to the next workable slot.
- I've caught the sun — can I still have a haircut?
- Tell your barber before they start. If your scalp or neck is burnt we'll adjust the approach, avoid a close clipper pass over the sore area and skip the razor work if needed. It's much better to say something than to grit your teeth through it.
