Walk in or book ahead? An honest answer

Both work. They just suit different situations, and knowing which is which saves you standing on a pavement in thirty-degree heat wondering whether to wait.

Walking in makes sense when…

• Your plans are loose and you're passing through Fisherman's Village anyway.
• It's a weekday, late morning or mid-afternoon — the quietest windows.
• You don't mind which barber cuts your hair.
• You want a short service like a line-up or a beard tidy rather than a full package.

Booking makes sense when…

• You want a specific barber, or a specific time.
• It's evening, a weekend, or high season — roughly December to March, plus July and August.
• You're booking a package or braiding, which need a longer block in the diary.
• You have somewhere to be afterwards. A booking is the only way to know exactly when you'll be finished.
• You're booking for two or more people.

The honest maths of a busy evening

Booked appointments are always served at their reserved time — that's the whole point of a booking. On a Saturday evening in high season, walk-ins fill the gaps between them, and those gaps can be short. Off-peak, you'll often sit down within a few minutes.

A middle path

Message us before you set off. Ten minutes' warning is often enough for us to tell you exactly what the wait looks like, and sometimes enough for us to hold a chair. It costs nothing and it removes the guesswork.
